The IMechE accredited training scheme will see successful candidates work alongside the Porterbrook engineers responsible for organising and improving Porterbrook's existing fleet maintenance regime, the commissioning of safety and reliability modifications, as well as giving engineering input into new vehicle procurement.

As well as a good engineering degree potential candidates will need to have the ability to work alongside both customers and suppliers. In return they will be able to join one of the leading UK railway success stories as well as receiving an unrivalled insight into the engineering and operational issues behind today's railway.

Porterbrook owns and manages over 4000 vehicles (locomotives, multiple units, coaching stock & freight wagons). Since privatisation it has invested £1.5billion in new trains and over £200million in refurbishing existing fleets.

Graduate engineers interested in a career with Porterbrook are invited to email: susan.hampson at porterbrook.co.uk
