The Yorkshire Branch covers the County of North Yorkshire, the unitary authorities of East Riding of Yorkshire, Kingston-upon-Hull, and York, and the Metropolitan Districts of Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Doncaster, Kirklees, Leeds, Rotherham, Sheffield, and Wakefield.

Prospects for the Railway to 2030

On Tuesday 13 February 2024, we will be delighted to welcome Ian Brown, Railfuture National Vice-President and Policy Director, to speak at our online branch meeting. Ian has held a number of high-profile positions within the railway and is now an influential member of the National Railfuture Board. The subject of Ian’s presentation will be `Prospects for the Railway to 2030’.

We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an extremely interesting and thought-provoking evening. Following his presentation, Ian will take questions from the Railfuture audience.

Railfuture Yorkshire AGM 2024

The Railfuture Yorkshire AGM and Branch Meeting will take place on Saturday 27 April at 1pm at Priestly Hall, Mill Lane Chapel, City Square, Leeds LS1 5EB (just three minutes’ walk from Leeds railway station). Please save the date in your diary!

Campaigns

Railfuture have launched a Northern Powerhouse campaign for improved services that can be achieved now within current constraints, and that can be achieved in future through a coordinated investment programme, to turn the great Northern cities of Liverpool, Preston, Manchester, Sheffield, Bradford, Leeds and Hull into a single strategic economic entity linked by a fast high capacity rail network to realise the economic potential of the region as a global powerhouse.

Yorkshire rail user groups

There are more than 20 rail user groups in the county. For Railfuture's Regional List of Rail User Groups including contact details, click here. The Regional List can be viewed online or downloaded in PDF format.

  • Sheffield-Leeds 'Stop the Train'
