June - "Lows and highs of 10-week gas work road closure" on the B3233 between Bideford and Barnstaple with a quote in BBC Devon News, on the 22nd, from Devon & Cornwall regional branch chair: "Tim Steer from campaign group Railfuture said in the long term the line should be reinstated to provide another way of travelling between the towns." On the day the works had started, local resident Tim had provided the photo for North Devon Today.

- The ACE Rail campaign began life in 2021, under the auspices of the former Tarka Rail Association (TRA), and by late-2023 the campaign for through Bideford and Barnstaple to Exeter services led to the formation of stakeholder group the Northern Devon Railway Development Alliance (NDRDA). The TRA received a Fighting Fund grant to commission an independent Initial Business Case for restoring Bideford services, and the NDRDA has received grants to support annual Conventions and workshops and also a £10k grant towards a specialist economic appraisal of rail services for Bideford; that sum was matched by Torridge District Council, and an equal amount came from Barnstaple and Bideford Town Councils plus a Bideford County Councillor's annual Locality Budget.

- Many rail user groups are affiliated to Railfuture, which provides a forum in which they can exchange ideas and experiences, co-ordinate rail development priorities, and contribute to the case for better rail services locally and nationally. Railfuture can help affiliated groups and campaigns to work together to achieve common goals and can provide support through our Fighting Fund. Two presentations given by Railfuture director Stewart Palmer (formerly MD with South West Trains) at our Summer 2018 conference on Lobbying train operators successfully and Building relationships with train operators show how Railfuture can help rail user groups to campaign more effectively.
