Nearly a month after Eurostar trains begin running from St Pancras International, the new Thameslink station also opens for First Capital Connect trains.

St Pancras International opens on 14 November 2007 for Eurostars and is expected to attract over 45million travellers annually.

From Sunday 9 December Thameslink trains (run by First Capital Connect) will also stop at St Pancras International. The new Thameslink station will replace the current King’s Cross Thameslink station, which will close the day before.

The new station will provide easy train access to Europe for passengers on the Thameslink Brighton to Bedford line.

It will also provide an easier interchange, with First Capital Connect Great Northern route services operating from King’s Cross to Cambridge, King’s Lynn, Peterborough.

St Pancras International, which combines iconic Victorian architecture with state of the art facilities, aims to redefine the railway station for the 21st century.

It aims to be a major shopping and hospitality destination in its own right and a good place to meet in London.

It will have stores, brasseries and coffee shops – and Europe’s longest champagne bar.texttexttext
