A high-profile team has been assembled by rail campaigners determined to see the Skipton-Colne rail line reopened.

Four MPs, an MEP, a train operating company chief and other experts will speak at a conference – in Skipton, North Yorkshire on 6 November 2009 – organised by Selrap, the Skipton-East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership.

The group wants to see the Skipton-Colne railway reinstated as part of a new trans-Pennine route linking the city regions of Liverpool, Manchester, Central Lancashire and Leeds.

SELRAP campaigners have also produced a map of the amazing support they have been pledged from local authorities.

Their conference aims to raise the profile of SELRAP’s campaign, and offer pointers towards the formation of a funding partnership to reopen the railway.
