Rail passengers have been given more help in planning their journeys on the National Rail website.

You can now view station layout plans which show platforms, location of ticket offices, ticket machines, cash machines, left luggage, toilets and even seats.

By clicking on one of the facilities on the map, you can also see a series of photographs of the station.

The new station “eye” can be found at:

www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/search.html

Enter your station name and press “Search”.

Then click on “Stations Made Easy”.

When a new page with a station plan appears, click on “View larger version”.

Run your computer mouse over the various facilities on the map and photographs will pop up.

By clicking on the small photographs, a larger version of the photograph will appear.

The station facilities page also provides lots of other useful information, including help for those who need assistance in boarding the train.
