Welcome to Railfuture

Railfuture is the UK's leading independent organisation campaigning for better rail services for both passengers and freight. Our local branches and volunteers campaign to get stations and lines reopened, for the benefit of the community, economy and environment. We have had a major part in getting 300 new and reopened stations to join the network since 1970.

Rail Conferences

Railfuture organises at least two national rail conferences each year, which are open to everyone, with members paying a reduce rate.

The Summer 2008 Conference was held on Saturday 5 July in Salisbury.

On Saturday 3 November 2007, Railfuture staged a very successful Rail Users Conference. To read what attendees said, see: Past Railfuture Conferences.

Working with Railfuture

As well as organising the annual national conference for rail users and user groups, Railfuture works at local and national level with train operators and other stakeholders to secure a better railway.

Railfuture makes awards to rail campaigners from its national Fighting Fund to help bring about improvements. Awards have been given, for example, to produce publicity information and conduct feasibility studies.
