Train operator London Midland is slashing the cost of rail travel by up to 70% throughout the Easter holidays in its latest money-saving offer for passengers.

The Great Easter Rail Sale runs from April 2 to 18 and offers travel on any London Midland service for £5 or £10 return off-peak when tickets are bought through the London Midland website.

Railcard holders will pay even less, saving an extra 30% off the rock bottom prices.

London Midland commercial director Alex Hynes said: "Following the success of our Great Escape deals earlier in the year, this is another fantastic opportunity for passengers to explore the London Midland network for an amazingly low price. There’s no limit on numbers, either, so grabbing a bargain is even easier than before!

"We hope to see some new faces, as well as our regular passengers, taking advantage of this deal."

London Midland runs services through the heart of England from London Euston in the south to Birmingham and onto Liverpool.

Other destinations include Worcester, Stratford-upon-Avon, Shrewsbury, Lichfield, Stoke-on-Trent, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Crewe.

Passengers can choose to collect their tickets from the self-service ticket machines at stations or have them delivered by first class post. There are no booking, credit card or delivery charges.
