ScotRail has launched its biggest-ever marketing campaign to highlight the added value of taking the train.

“We understand that good value for money is essential," said Graeme Macfarlan, ScotRail’s marketing manager, "but we also wanted to use this opportunity to remind customers of the added benefits rail can offer such as relaxation, convenience and fun."

The first of the television adverts was broadcast this week (13 June 2011).

Scottish comedian Phil Kay is the voice behind A Better Way To Go advertising campaign which will run for a year.

Phil has also recorded a series of radio adverts which will be heard on radio stations across Scotland over the next 12 months.

He has hosted his own stand-up comedy series on Channel 4 and other TV works include Next Stop, Phil Kay (Channel 4), BBC’s QI, and The Montreal Festival of Fun (Channel 5).

The television adverts include one for Kids Go Free, one for Advance single fares and two for off-peak day returns. The first advert features the Advance single fare.
