The Yorkshire Branch covers the County of North Yorkshire, the unitary authorities of East Riding of Yorkshire, Kingston-upon-Hull, and York, and the Metropolitan Districts of Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Doncaster, Kirklees, Leeds, Rotherham, Sheffield, and Wakefield.

JOINT RAILFUTURE YORKSHIRE & NORTH WEST BRANCH MEETING

We are delighted to welcome Tony Baxter, regional director of Northern Railway, to address our joint branch meeting. Tony will be addressing key issues facing Northern and the wider railway at this time, and will take questions from the Railfuture audience following his presentation.

The meeting will also present the opportunity to discuss key rail issues affecting both Railfuture branches, and indeed the whole of the North.

Our online meeting will be held via the Zoom platform and all are welcome to join. Railfuture members who receive Yorkshire Rail Campaigner by email will automatically be sent a link by email a few days beforehand. Campaigns

Railfuture have launched a Northern Powerhouse campaign for improved services that can be achieved now within current constraints, and that can be achieved in future through a coordinated investment programme, to turn the great Northern cities of Liverpool, Preston, Manchester, Sheffield, Bradford, Leeds and Hull into a single strategic economic entity linked by a fast high capacity rail network to realise the economic potential of the region as a global powerhouse.

Yorkshire rail user groups

There are more than 20 rail user groups in the county. For Railfuture's Regional List of Rail User Groups including contact details, click here. The Regional List can be viewed online or downloaded in PDF format.

These groups have also been identified:
  • Kirkgate Station, Friends of (Wakefield)
  • Sheffield-Leeds 'Stop the Train'
