Railfuture is planning to relaunch its North Wales branch as a way of promoting better rail services in the area.

People interested in the modern railway and options to promote rail use are invited to attend to attend a public meeting on 15 November 2008.

Anyone wishing to play a part in promoting rail in North Wales is welcome to attend the meeting but Railfuture is hoping that people will persuaded to become more active and join the campaign.

Quarterly meetings are planned from January onwards with a view to publishing a local newsletter and arranging input to the national Rail Wales newsletter to increase awareness of rail opportunities west of Chester.

The meeting will be held on Saturday 15 November at 14.00 in Flint Town Hall which is adjacent to Flint railway station.

Railfuture seeks to move more people and freight from road to rail, by campaigning for cheap, convenient rail services for everyone, as well as better links for buses, bikes and pedestrians.

Rail needs a strong, independent lobby so Railfuture works with all levels of government, train operators and voluntary bodies to promote the interests of rail users, and secure improvements to rail services.

A budget membership fee of £5 is available for Rail Wales group members.
