Harringworth Viaduct has been described as “magnificent” and “inspirational”. It “dominates a picturesque rural valley”.

On Sundays only until 6 December 2009, East Midlands Trains services are being diverted over the viaduct while engineering work is carried out on the main line.

To make a return trip over the viaduct, passengers can join a train at nearby stations including Kettering, Corby and Leicester.

Additionally Corby will have a northbound rail service with direct trains to Leicester and Nottingham.

For details of train times and fares ask at your local booking office or contact East Midlands Trains. Tel 08457 125 678 or visit www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk

The viaduct is located on the Northamptonshire/Rutland border, near Corby and Uppingham. Repair work is currently under way to replace weathered and perished bricks from number seven arch to number one. This work is visible from Gretton Road going underneath the viaduct.

On Saturday 6 February 2010 a steam rail tour traverses the viaduct.
