The UK launch of Tim Fischer's new book Trains Unlimited in the 21st Century will take place at the Wensleydale Railway.

A former deputy prime minister of Australia, Tim Fischer introduced The Great Train Show on Australia's ABC radio which is also available as a website download.

Railways are a major interest for Tim who was born in New South Wales.

In the book, he uses his experiences as s farmer, Vietnam war veteran, politician, diplomat and chairman of Tourism Australia.

To mark the launch, afternoon tea will be served at Leeming Bar station from 14.30 and the author will travel on the Wensleydale Railway before signing copies of his book at Leeming Bar from 15.30 to 17.00.

While Australian Ambassador to the Pope, he obtained permission for a special train to run from the little-known station in the Vatican in support of the Catholic charity, CARITAS.
