Sensible people will get a chance to have their say about the ridiculous scheme to convert a railway into a busway.

The Translink scheme for the Luton-Dunstable line is the sole item on the agenda when the local council's environment scrutiny committee meets at Lealands High School, Sundon Park, Luton on Tuesday 27 February 2001 at 1800.

Scrutiny committees are the "nearest thing we have to democracy in Luton" said a resident.

The public can participate and recommendations may be made to the council's executive committee.

Hopefully this could be the beginning of the end of the busway.
